The primary purpose of the Phoneline Committee is to get the prospective newcomer to an NA meeting.
Greater Philadelphia Regional Phoneline Subcommittee would greatly appreciate it if anyone with information about NA conventions, speaker jams, marathons, anniversary meetings, camp outs, picnics, barbecues, etc. within the Philadelphia Region would send details, via E-mail at: helpline@naworks.org so that this information can be made available to Phoneline Volunteers to pass on to our callers. Please keep in mind that 4 weeks or more advance notice of such events would be optimum.
This list contains phone numbers for contacts to Worldwide NA Meetings.

Your Hotline system was created by the AIN specialists at Verizon and the Regional Phoneline Committee, specifically for the Greater Philadelphia Region of NA. This unique phone system allows you to include yourself in the call answering system when you want, or to remove yourself when you do not want to answer calls. The call-distribution system allows its Hotline volunteers to receive live Hotline calls at the phone number of their choice twenty-four hours a day. The volunteer's phone number must have call-waiting in order for the call-distribution system to work properly.
Hotline volunteers are NA members from all of the Areas within the Greater Philadelphia Region of NA. Experience has shown that the most successful volunteers possess certain assets, which are beneficial in the accomplishment of their responsibilities. Our Regional Guidelines suggest a volunteer have a minimum of one year clean, appropriate training, a knowledge of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous, the willingness to serve and the willingness to give of personal time. Schedule guidelines suggest a volunteer take one four-hour day shift, or one eight-hour overnight shift, per week as a three-month commitment. Scheduling is not mandatory and Hotline volunteers may go online at any time and as often as they want.
Our regular monthly orientation is held at 12:00 noon on the second Saturday of each month at the RSO located at 6212 Ridge Avenue in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. At the request of areas or groups, special orientations are held at announced locations and times. At each training, NA members receive a manual containing: a White Booklet, contact numbers, a Twelve-Step volunteer list, meeting lists, NA worldwide numbers, a Community Service Referral list, general volunteer guidelines, activate/de-activate instructions, referral forms and update information. The Orientation Presenters review and discuss every section of the manual and share their own personal Hotline experiences. Upon completion of the orientation, NA members are qualified to become Hotline/12-Step volunteers and the necessary information is recorded. The training lasts approximately two hours.
Each month, a mailing is sent to all Hotline/12-Step volunteers containing: meeting list information updates, upcoming NA events, the current volunteer schedule, one of the "Twelve Concepts for NA " text and study/discussion questions, plus any updated information related to the Hotline, its manual, committee or volunteers.
Meets from 11:00am - 12:30pm
